All very nice - but it’s kinda sad that the one that cost HALF of the others actually had the best steering - by a wide margin.

Them’s fightin’ words to a number of folks in these parts. Do elaborate.

Also, like the tag.

I can’t claim credit for that tag - someone else started it a few weeks ago (at E90M3's suggestion IIRC).

I’m not sure that I’ll get much flak for that comment, TBH. Automakers are struggling mightily to incorporate feel with electric power assist steering. Most of them (including BMW) are failing at it. I’m not sure that the Accord really had much more feel, but it did have a nicer weight to it than the other 3. It’s a good car. Supposedly Mazda has done it fairly well - though I haven’t driven an ND Miata yet.

I will say that the Honda would be a pretty fun car with the manual - and it was pleasant to drive even with the CVT. Maybe I’m getting old, but I really liked the Mercedes, and kept imagining what it would be like with at least one of the turbo sixes.

The Miata is the one thing I can speak to. Great steering, at least in my inexpert opinion.

Yeah I really need to drive the new one.

Don’t get me wrong, I really liked all 4 cars, but the Honda was last, and the steering was a bit of an aha moment to me.

The Kia stinger has the worst steering ever. But I like being Comfortably Numb

That’s one of the next cars on my list to drive - - the Kia dealer was too far away for me to make it there before they closed Saturday.

If you’ve been driving cars more than a few years old, most new cars will feel pretty numb - - it’s the electric power steering. It just doesn’t provide the feedback that a good hydraulic PS system does.

I know... Even my jeep is better.

But I’d like it if we just embraced electric steering and got rid of physical connections altogether. Lets put good haptic feedback on the actual steering wheels that simulates non boosted systems.
